1. According to data from the National Retail Federation, the average person will shell out $117.14 for Father’s Day this year. That’s up from last year, but consumers planned to spend about 30% more on Mother’s Day — about $152.50. The difference, is growing smaller, though. In 2008, even though consumers spent less overall on both holidays, Moms were getting 47% more spent on them than Dads.
